Ms. Rabiya Javeri Agha, Chairperson

National Commission for Human Rights (NCHR)

5th Floor, Evacuee Trust Complex, Aga Khan Rd. F-5/1, Islamabad

Cruel, illegal and inhuman treatment of CDA contracted sanitation workers at

Pakistan Monument Islamabad.

This is to inform you that your organisation is guilty of extreme cruelty, illegality and violation of human rights of sanitation workers, ironically  working at the most prestigious and historical location of Islamabad I.e. the Pakistan Monument.

The sanitation workers at Pakistan Monument  are paid Rs 15000 per month, while the legal min wage is R/s.25,000.

Please see below a video interview of 19 March 2023.

These workers  have also  not been registered with EOBI and thus you are also guilty of depriving them of their pension as well.

Did it ever bother your  conscience that while you receive salary, allowances and perks of over R/s one million per month, you treat the sanitation workers with cruelty that will surpass the worst examples of  slavery in USA.

CDA is requested to kindly URGENTLY act to eliminate this monumental cruelty and illegality at the Pakistan Monument, that you so proudly show to every foreign visitor.

Chairperson National Commission of Human Rights is requested to kindly at least have the awareness of the human rights crimes committed right under your very nose, take action against Chairperson CDA, follow up and put an immediate end to the illegal wages to contracted   sanitation workers and private security guards deployed at Pakistan Monument, which is supposedly  a symbol of what Pakistan truly stands for.

Sincerely,

Naeem Sadiq
