Wage theft at Engro Dharaki subcontractors

Dear Sir,

Human Rights Violations, illegal wages and non-registration to EOBI of workers of 3rd party Goods Transport Contractor of Engro Fertilizers Limited, Daharki, District Ghotki

We have received numerous complaints of illegal wages (less than Rs32,000) and non-registration to EOBI and cash payment instead of payment through banks for workers of Engro 3rd party Goods Transport Contractors at Engro Fertiliser Daharki.

It is sad that your esteemed organisation, as a principal employer, has failed to comply with the current minimum legal wage of Rs32,000 for 8 hours, EOBI and payment thru banks for your 3rd party contracted workers. This is cruelty, exploitation and wage theft.

We are requesting you and all government organisations to kindly investigate and take urgent actions, to find all those indulging in these illegal acts. It is obvious that all this could not be possible without the active connivance of EOBI and labour departments.

We are requesting an immediate end to these illegal practices and holding accountable all those responsible for these illegal practices.
