None of our bickering, venom emitting, power hungry leaders have ever ensured legal wages, dignity and decent working conditions for security guards and sanitation workers of Pakistan.
Today we have millions of citizens forced to work at one third the legal minimum wage, struggling for every morsel, while the rich rulers and bureaucrats forever raise their own salaries and enhance their own perks – thus becoming the biggest burden on the progress of this country. The people who actually need to be uplifted continue to toil in poverty and be treated like modern-day slaves.
The largest organisations of Pakistan such as Pakistan Post and National Savings Organisation lead this venomous attack by employing thousands of private security guards, paying them Rs.18000 pm, working for 12 hours each day, with no EOBI and no weekly holidays. Privately the guard explained that he is in fact a bonded labour as the security company holds his CNIC and will not let him leave the job for next 3 months.
Will the sane and humane citizens of Pakistan not raise their voice and write to Pakistan Post and National Savings Organisation to put an end to this state sponsored cruelty.
